LadyWe Love No Doubt About It

We are so enamored by our hometown girl, Gwen Stefani. We enjoy her music, love her style, and admire her businesswoman/superstar/mom balancing act! We think she looks phenomenal every time we see her. She is a strong woman and you never hear anything negative about her in the media. We are so happy that BAZAAR magazine was able to celebrate her in the September issue. She has always stayed true to who she is and she is the perfect role model to anyone who is trying to express their individuality and push above and beyond everyone’s expectations.

We love her top knot!

Whether it’s a tank top and jeans or a couture gown and accessories, this girl can pull it off!

We are a sucker for red lipstick!

A Cry for Craft

Larone Crafts Inc. is a Philippines based company. All handbags and clutches are created and handcrafted by weavers and artisans from all over the country. This cottage-type industry helps women in less developed areas of the Philippines earn a living for their families.

“Established in 1984, we have been working closely with micro-businesses, cooperatives, and skilled artisans to provide customers with a quality product that is both fashionable and functional; at the same time, we are committed to providing these individual weavers and workers with a stable livelihood and source of income.”

We think these designs and craftsmanship are to be featured and recognized. If you own a boutique, this would be the perfect platform for these goods to sell.

Rockin’ Moroccan Oil Treatment

We are obsessed with Moroccan Oil. We’ve been using it for 3 months now and we are very pleased with what we see! Our hair is smoother, healthier and shinier since we’ve been using this product. Our hair stylist introduced us to this great product. She used it after washing or hair, while the hair was damp, she applied a small amount to the tips of the hair. After that, she put product in, blew it out and styled. Even with hairspray and product, our hair was still soft to the touch thanks to the oil. We were pleased that during our recent visit to DryBar, they also used Moroccan Oil. This is a great product to use after shampooing your hair, you won’t want to stop twirling your hair!

I’ll Have A Cosmo, Please.

In celebration of our great friend’s 24th birthday, we decided to visit the Drybar in Newport Beach’s Fashion Island Shopping Center. Now, we must admit, we’d never heard of the drybar until last month and didn’t really know what to expect. We were pleasantly surprised to discover that this place would wash our hair (all while giving us a ten minute scalp massage) and style it for us. They specialize in easy hair styles and unlike a normal hair salon, they don’t color or cut your hair. Drybar is a great stop before enjoying a nice evening out on the town. Believe us, it will make you  want to save the hassle of taking out your hot curlers and hair spray. All blowouts (or hair styles) are a flat fee of $35 and a wash included, if you want a “floater” aka scalp massage, you’ll have to add $10 more, which is so worth it. The staff also treats you to your choice of wine, champagne or water, they play fun girl movies and every station has an iphone dock to charge your phone! The best part of it all was that our curls lasted all night, even after sleeping on it, we got to enjoy soft curls the day after as well.

The Drybar was founded by Alli Webb, who had a career in PR and who is also a professional hair stylist. She started her business small, as she would pay in home visits to her clients for blow outs. Her clients kept referring her to their friends and her popularity grew. In her decision to expand, she created the Drybar. She now has locations in California, Arizona, Texas, Georgia, and New York. Watch the brief video below as she explains the concept of the Drybar.

We hope you get to visit the Drybar soon and share your experience and hair styles with us.

I N G L O T Cosmetic Customization

We’ve stumbled upon something new: Inglot Cosmetics. As the friendly sales associate pointed out, Inglot is the MAC makeup of Europe. They offer a wide range of color palettes in everything cosmetic class from nail polishes to eye shadows. We loved the fact that they offer something called the “Freedom System” in which you can select the color palettes of your choice. In a world of customization, this is something we’ve been lacking in cosmetics. Imagine this – an eyebrow trio with colors you will actually wear. You simply choose the platelet, then select the color squares you would like to fill the platelet. In a world of self-serve yogurt shops, build-a-bear type toy stores and customized social network sites, this is very exciting in the cosmetic world. For the ordinary consumer, having a store in which you can play, try on, and cater to your preference is a win. Inglot has many items, which one would think would be overwhelming, but in fact, is exciting since one has endless possibilities of color combinations.

They also offer out of the ordinary eyelashes. We thought the eyelashes were super fun and although we would never wear these often, they are one of a kind and can be great to wear out to a party. Shop Inglot here or visit them in their U.S. locations in New York and California.

Take a Chance on Chanel

We’ve been spritzing this delightful scent for years now and just when we think we are ready to put it away and bring in a new one, it calls our name yet again. This is a young and light scent with floral nodes that will leave everyone asking, “what perfume is that?!!” This makes a great gift for any woman of any age as it is not an overwhelming scent. Plus, it makes a great addition to our already, “everything lady-like” theme on our vanity table.

N.Y.C. Nails

During our mini trip to New York, we couldn’t help but to snap a picture of our “Prince Street” nail polish by N.Y.C. It is a playful shade of purple for the Fall season.

Oh Elaine, The Black and White Cookie

“Oh look Elaine, the black and white cookie. I love the black and white. Two races of flavor living side by side in harmony. It’s a wonderful thing, isn’t it?”-Jerry and Elaine, in “The Dinner Party” , Seinfeld 1994
Our recent trip to NYC had us in search for Seinfeld favorite, the black and white cookie.  We paired this cake-like cookie of deliciousness with Sally Hansen’s Whirlwind White and Pat on the Black.  Is there anything better than a dessert that tastes like another dessert?

Carry On with Essie

We had to start off our weekend vacation the right way & what better way than with a fresh coat of our nail polish du jour?
