How Cheesy!

It’s Cheeseburger Week in Pasadena, California, and we think you should check it out. In the 1920′s a clever cook working at a restaurant decided to disguise the fact that he had burned the bun of a burger and used cheese to cover his mistake. After his customer was delightfully surprised by the cheese in his burger, he knew that he could start serving something that would set him apart from all the other burger joints. Almost, 90 years later, it is guaranteed that most restaurants have their own version of a cheeseburger. We set out to see what Pasadena had to offer and participated in their Cheeseburger Week at the delicious Dog Haus Biergarten. We must admit, we were sold on this place becuase we found out they serve sweet potato tater tots. We walked in to a place that would pretty much custom make burgers and hotdogs. What set this restaurant apart from the rest was that they didn’t serve their cheeseburgers on a normal hamburger bun, they served them on king’s hawaiian bread (yum!). As we proceeded to order the Holy Aioli (which consisted of: american cheese, caramelized onions, smoked bacon, garlic aoili and our own request of avocado), we couldn’t help but to feel like a kid again and order tater tots to accompany our cheeseburger. Although there are many amazing restaurants in old town Pasadena that serve gourmet burgers, we thought that the Dog Haus Biergarten was a great place to experience Cheeseburger Week in a more relaxed environment. We hope everyone can go out and support the local restaurants participating this week. Did we mention many restaurants offer discounts on their cheeseburgers?
